BLACKENED

BLACKENED Cigars are a distinctive premium cigar brand born from a unique collaboration between Drew Estate, Metallica's James Hetfield, and Rob Dietrich, Master Distiller of BLACKENED American Whiskey. Launched in 2023, the brand quickly established itself with its inaugural 'M81' blend. These cigars are crafted in Nicaragua, reflecting a commitment to quality and a bold flavor profile. They represent a fusion of rock music heritage and expert tobacco artistry.

A Collaborative Genesis

The BLACKENED cigar project emerged from a shared passion for craftsmanship and bold experiences. It unites the legendary rock band Metallica, represented by James Hetfield, with Rob Dietrich of BLACKENED American Whiskey, and the renowned cigar manufacturer Drew Estate. This unique partnership aimed to create a cigar that embodies the spirit of both brands, launching with the 'M81' blend in 2023.

Signature Profile: The 'M81'

The flagship 'M81' blend is known for its dark, rich, and robust character. It typically features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a San Andres binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Ligero fillers. This combination delivers a medium to full-bodied smoke with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and a subtle spice, offering a complex and satisfying experience for seasoned enthusiasts.

Beyond the Blend: Craft and Collaboration

The 'M81' designation itself is a nod to Metallica, referencing the year 1981 when the band was formed. Each cigar is meticulously crafted in Nicaragua, leveraging Drew Estate's extensive expertise in premium tobacco. The brand emphasizes the synergy between the worlds of music, whiskey, and cigars, aiming to provide a multi-sensory experience that resonates with fans of all three.
