Perdomo: Brand Story
Cigario editorial
A family Nicaraguan brand that grows its own tobacco from seed.
Brand history
Perdomo is a family company led by Nick Perdomo, with roots reaching back to Cuban tobacco growers. The brand is famous for keeping the entire process under one roof — from field to fermentation to rolling. The result is remarkable consistency and value.
Origins
The Perdomos fled Cuba and started from scratch in the US. In 1992 Nick Perdomo founded a small workshop in Miami and gradually moved both production and growing to Nicaragua. Today the company farms its own plantations and factory in Estelí.
History
The brand made its name with anniversary lines such as the 20th Anniversary and became known for meticulous aging of both tobacco and cedar boxes. Perdomo consistently scores high for its price-to-quality ratio.
How & where it’s made
Everything is made in Estelí from 100% Nicaraguan tobacco the company grows itself and ferments for a long time — some lines age for years. Thanks to vertical integration, Perdomo has total control over quality.
Style
Perdomo offers a wide range from mild Connecticut to dark Maduro with notes of cocoa, coffee and sweet wood. It is a reliable everyday choice where you know what you’ll get.
Did you know
Nick Perdomo is a former US Navy aviation technician — the precision from aircraft, he says, carried over into cigar-making. The company is one of the few truly vertically integrated brands on the market.
