Partagás is one of the oldest and most famous Cuban brands, founded in 1845 by the Catalan Jaime Partagás. His Havana factory is one of the most iconic buildings in the cigar world. The brand is loved for its full, earthy strength — the flagship Serie D No. 4 is one of the best-known robustos of all.

Origins

Jaime Partagás was a pioneer who experimented with the fermentation and aging of tobacco and built his famous factory in Havana. It still operates today and is one of the most visited spots for cigar lovers.

History

Over nearly 180 years the brand went through a dramatic history, including the nationalisation of Cuban industry. The famous Serie D No. 4 helped kick off the worldwide robusto craze in the 1990s. Due to trademark, a Dominican Partagás also exists for the US market.

How & where it’s made

Cuban Partagás is made in Cuba from Vuelta Abajo tobacco and is among the fuller Havanas. It is famous for its rich, "leathery" character.

Style

On the palate Partagás is full, earthy and spicy, with notes of leather, coffee, cocoa and black pepper. It is a cigar for a smoker who loves a bold, robust flavour.
