LEAF by Oscar
Unveiling the essence of tobacco, wrapped in its purest form.Brand story
LEAF by Oscar is a distinctive premium cigar brand originating from Honduras, renowned for its innovative presentation and quality craftsmanship. Founded by Oscar Valladares, the brand quickly gained recognition for its unique approach to packaging, where each cigar is individually wrapped in a raw tobacco leaf. This signature aesthetic, combined with a focus on rich, balanced flavor profiles, has established LEAF by Oscar as a notable name among cigar enthusiasts. The brand emphasizes the natural beauty and integrity of the tobacco leaf, both inside and out.
The Genesis of LEAF
Oscar Valladares, a veteran of the cigar industry, established Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co. in 2012 in Honduras. The 'LEAF' concept emerged from a collaboration with Jim Robinson, known as 'Island Jim,' who envisioned a cigar presented in a raw tobacco leaf. This innovative packaging quickly became the brand's hallmark, distinguishing it from traditional cellophane-wrapped cigars and highlighting its natural origins.
Signature Presentation and Flavor Profiles
The most striking feature of LEAF by Oscar cigars is their distinctive outer wrapping of an actual tobacco leaf, which protects the cigar and adds to its rustic appeal. Beneath this unique exterior, smokers can expect well-constructed cigars with a range of medium-bodied profiles. The brand offers various wrapper options, including Connecticut, Corojo, Maduro, and Sumatra, each contributing to a distinct flavor experience, often characterized by notes of earth, spice, and natural sweetness.
Key Blends and Innovation
The LEAF by Oscar line includes several popular blends, such as the LEAF by Oscar Connecticut, known for its creamy and mild character, and the LEAF by Oscar Maduro, offering a richer, sweeter experience. The brand's commitment to showcasing the natural beauty of tobacco, coupled with consistent quality, has garnered a loyal following. This innovative presentation not only serves as a visual signature but also helps in maintaining optimal humidity for the cigar.
