Davidoff

Swiss elegance and one of the most luxurious names in cigars.

Brand story

Davidoff is a byword for luxury and precision. The brand was made famous by Zino Davidoff, who turned his shop in Geneva into a temple of cigars. Originally a Cuban brand, it moved to the Dominican Republic in 1990 and remains at the very top of the premium market.

Origins

Zino Davidoff, the son of a tobacco merchant, travelled the plantations of South America and built a legendary shop in Geneva. His name became a brand of luxury lifestyle — from cigars to fragrances and accessories.

History

The original Davidoff was made in Cuba, but over falling quality the brand split from Cuba in 1990 and moved production to the Dominican Republic under Oettinger Davidoff. Lines such as Grand Cru, Nicaragua and Winston Churchill followed.

How & where it’s made

Davidoff is today made mainly in the Dominican Republic (and in Honduras and Nicaragua) under strict quality control. The brand is famed for its purity, balance and flawless construction of every cigar.

Style

The classic Davidoff White Label is rather mild to medium, elegant and creamy, with notes of cedar, nuts and white pepper. Newer lines like Nicaragua and Yamasá offer a fuller, spicier experience too.

Did you know

Zino Davidoff was famous for his "golden rules" of cigar smoking — such as never stubbing a cigar out, but letting it die on its own. His name today graces a worldwide network of Davidoff luxury shops.
